Day 4 of Piano Camp

We headed to Schaumburg Nature Center.
We used to live just a few blocks from there,
and spent a couple days a week there for home-school.

From the top of the silo.

A good climb, worth the view.

On the path.  Will Daddy remember the way?
Mommy will help, if needed.
She has the map.

No one wants to kiss this frog.
I have learned that frogs have smooth skin and like it wet.
Toads have the bumpy skin and like it dry.
I am not kissing either of them.

Every pond is the home of ugly toads and beautiful water lilies.

Nolan gets the idea of climbing rocks.
He thinks it's like Gramma's yard.

There are no sides to the bridge.
It's safer to cross in pairs.

We got to see and smell the pigs.
Nolan practiced his animal sounds.

The pigs were ready to smooch.
We held Nolan back.

A trip to the outhouse.
Nathan was amazed when the pioneer woman handed him a corn cob,
since they did not have any toilet paper.
He wanted to know how they used it.
Carefully!

It was always a beautiful place to go;
then and now.

Andrew was happy to find out he was old enough to hold Baby Seth.

Our grandsons (wearing their Goedken University t-shirts).
Out of twenty pictures, this was the best one.
It will NOT be next year's Christmas card.

Auntie Becca and her godson, Seth.

After dinner the boys slip away for some Droid games.

Just before serving dessert,
Grampa found Nolan sitting at the table, all by himself.
Nolan had found the special oatmeal, molasses, non-dairy chocolate chip cookies
Grampa makes for him, and was helping himself.
He was very quiet and stopped chewing when Grampa found him.
He relaxed when Grampa started laughing.
It pays to be cute.
When we DID sit down for dessert, Grampa gave Nolan a second cookie.

Twin boys, twin Piggies and twin Mousies.

It can be difficult to maneuver down our hallway.
Daddy's slippers are very heavy.
