When we were at the Water Spray Park last week,
Nolan kept telling us he wanted to go to the BIG water park.
So, Grampa and Nolan decided to try it out this week.
If there are other people there,
Nolan is happy.
He would have been willing to do the BIG tube slide,
but Grampa explained it was a ride for bigger boys.
They had time for a selfie.
The Lazy River was his favorite attraction.
They did it over twenty times.
When they finished a trip through the entire river,
Grampa would ask, "Shall we get out, or do you want to do more?"
Nolan always responded, "More."
Finally, Grampa changed his question to,
"Are you hungry, now?"
Nolan changed his answer to, "Eat!"
They had lunch together,
while Nolan kept an eye on what other children do at the waterpark.
After lunch, Grampa asked Nolan what he would like to do next.
Nolan Grampa back to the BIG slide and said, "This."
Grampa told him, while he had indeed eaten a very good lunch,
he still was not 42" tall.
So they headed back to the Lazy River.
To manouver the lazy river, Grampa and Nolan used a double inner tube.
Gramma was concerned about the safety of this technique.
But Grampa knew they would be safe.
What was funny was that Grampa took Nolan to the waterpark
wearing Seth's swimsuit (size 6 months).
They are both orange, so Nolan was okay with it.
Grampa thought the suit fit better.
Nolan did not lose his suit at the waterpark,
so I guess it worked.
Seth rolls with the punches.
Nolan works on the art of pouring.
Gramma is looking forward to their first tea party.
Seth wants to play Tug-of-War.
He wins!
"Hey, Nolan. Can you show me how to do that?"
From the California Gentlemen
Andrew playing Goodbye to Winter.
The two hands are very independent;
like playing a duet between your hands.
Andrew does well with his dynamics.
Nathan playing London Bridge.
The dotted rhythm is the hardest part or this song.
Nathan has a very steady London Bridge.
Down the River We Go
by Gramma
Great-Gramma and Great-Grampa Mousie had a summer house that was on an island in the Mississippi River. Grampa Piggie and Gramma Mousie had three kids. The little one was a baby. To get to the house, they had to go by boat. The boat had a motor.
It was a cold day, when they took the boat to the house on the island. They had to put on coats to stay warm. When they got to the island they tied the boat up at the dock. They walked on the island and had fun there. When it was time to go, Great-Grampa Mousie had to make two trips in the boat to get all of them off of the island. The first boat trip he took Grampa Piggie, Gramma Mousie and the three kids. They all got into the boat and sat down. The baby was asleep.
They pushed away from the dock and tried to start the motor. But the motor did not start. They looked for the oars to row the boat. They had one oar in the boat. A boat needs two oars to row it. They were going down the river. Grampa Piggie was trying to row the boat with one oar into the last dock on the island.
Gramma Mousie was scared. She asked Grampe Piggie, "What if we miss the dock?" Grampa Piggie said, "Then we can go to New Orleans." Now Gramma was more scared. She did not want to go all the way to New Orleans. It was a long way to New Orleans. And they had no food.
It was a good thing that Great-Gramma Mousie and Aunt Mousie were still on the island. They called for help. Phones were on walls in houses back then; not in your pocket. A man came with a boat to help save them. When he got by the boat, he tossed a rope to them and towed them to land. Then he went back in his boat and got Great-Gramma Mousie and Aunt Mousie. They were glad to be safe.
After that, when they get into a boat, they check to see that they have two oars.
