The Little Gentlemen's Birthdays/Getting Sick

Daddy enjoys Nolan's blocks, too.
When Nolan noticed Daddy had designed a house,
he demolished it.

Nolan and Seth blow out the candles on their individual birthday cakes.

I think Seth noticed Nolan's cake was bigger.
Sometimes size is important.

The cake is obviously delicious.
Seth is still considering if his cake is big enough.

Seth isn't sure what his present is,
but he's really excited about it.

Seth's new birthday bath toy is really flashy.
It may have been swimming in toxic water.
As soon as the engineers found out the batteries cannot be changed,
they tried to figure out a way to do it, just in case.

The danger in putting your wish list online
is that everyone will sekect the same idea.
I can't count the number of scarves Megan got.
Fortunately scarves are like shoes...
you can't have too many.

Daddy and Matt are growing dinosaurs in water.
Likely, they're amphibious dinosaurs.

We're trying to teach Nolan that the sprayer
should be faced away from you.
Immediately after this picture was taken,
we had to change his shirt.
We'll try again next week.

Nolan saw that Grampa had his broom out.
He ran to get the POWER TOOL version.

Grampa ordered a nutcracker for Gramma's brazil nuts.
Nolan saw a lever and knew just what to do.

He can crack them very well.
The floor will require sweeping, AGAIN.

Seth worked and worked to get under the chair.
I expected him to want to be rescued,
but he thought he found home.
Or perhaps he found some crushed Brazil nuts.

I started to worry
that I would have to lift the chair off of him to get him out.

I could hear this strange noise and went to check on Seth.
I found him playing with a matchbox car.
The strange noise was Seth making motor sounds.
Do boys need to be taught that?

News from the California Gentlemen
by Nathan and Andrew

This boy needs his Gramma.
Andrew was home from school, sick.
Gramma sent him some knock, knock jokes,
since Andrew even likes to make his own.

I love emailing Nathan and Andrew.
It makes my day to find, "I've got mail."

Here are emails I received from them.

Today was the 100th day of school. We ate lots of snacks to celebrate. We had marshmallows and popcorn. I am 100 days smarter than the beginning of school now.

Good night,
Nathan

Mommy and I are going to play Backgammon now.Knock, KnockWho's There?Zone.Zone who? He's scared for his own shadow.

I was not clever enough to figure this one out.

Having a twin means there's always someone to push your swing.
And always someone's swing to push.

I can't wait to get to California to try this out.
I think it may be easier with high heels.

They still are Blackhawks fans.

Being Sick Can Be Yucky
by Gramma

When Ryan Joseph was a little boy, his mommy was going to have another baby.  It made her tummy upset and turned her face green.  In fact, she could not eat or drink without throwing up.  The doctor said she needed medicine to help her.  Ryan Joseph's daddy took him along to the drugstore, because his mommy was stuck in bed.   They went in their brand new car, and he got to ride in the front seat with his daddy.

They got the medicine and started to go back home.  On the way home, Ryan Joseph started to feel sick in his tummy, too.  He told his daddy he was going to throw up.  His daddy tried to pull the car over VERY quickly to help Ryan Joseph.  He stopped the car and tried to get Ryan Joseph out of the car.  But there was no time.  His tummy was returning lunch NOW.

His daddy looked around the car, but there was nothing to help him.  He cupped his hands together and put them in front of Ryan Joseph's face, because he didn't want his new car to get dirty.  But now his hands were a smelly mess.  And the doors of the car were shut.  He tried to think what to do next.  But there was no good answer.

Sometimes daddies have to do gross things for their children.
Instead of running from vomit, they must take it into their own hands.
