Breakfast at Gramma's was funny face pancakes.
She thinks they taste better that way.
The boys think bacon tastes good,
no matter what face you eat it off of.
Andrew played a song on the organ.
Any piece sounds impressive on this instrument.
Nathan tried his piece on the grand piano at church.
No wonder Gramma loves it here.
The boys were very excited to see the Vacation Bible School decorations at St. Peter.
How often does a knight in shining armor come to church?
I guess he was between crusades.
We went to watch the Alpine Day Parade.
Andrew found a good friend, Libby Maxwell,
and was eager to share a seat with her.
Nathan figured out that you have to be on your feet to get the candy thrown from the floats.
It was touching to see Nathan share his candy with Andrew.
Who thought a parade could be a lesson in friendship and sharing?
Grampa's cinnamon rolls are a huge favorite, especially to Andrew.
Grampa passed along his baking secrets to his assistant grandsons.
They also baked homemade bread in Grampa's clay bread oven.
Nolan demonstrates the new light in his kitchen set.
Andrew was very impressed.
Nolan wishes the faucet would actually work.
He tries it over and over.
When Terry observed him trying to turn it on,
he tried to explain to him it didn't work.
I reminded him the light switch never used to work, either.
Then one day, it did.
Nolan enjoyed time with his cousins.
He observed them very closely to see what big boys do.
The boys seemed to share a love of Ice Age 2.
It was obviously captivating.
Nolan looks like he's ready for the recording studio.
Gramma is intimidated by all the buttons on her synthesizer.
Nolan has figured out most of them.
For some reason Nolan wanted to sit on the boys' laps.
They were so patient and kind with him.
I guess he sees them as the BIG BOYS.
At night, I had the privilege of hearing the boys say their prayers.
They take turns leading prayer each night.
They each get to pick a song to sing, if they wish.
Even Gramma was allowed to pick a song.
This memory is burned into my heart.
